National Pride of Place – Public Meeting

Help celebrate all that is good and unique about our town.
Kildare Town has been chosen to represent the County in the National Pride of Place competition for 2013.
There will be an information/public meeting on the 8 May at 7.30 pm in Kildare Heritage Centre (Market House), Market Square to explore how we as a community might showcase our town. All are welcome.
The competition focuses on how the community comes together to shape, change and enjoy what their local area has to offer. It can help galvanise our efforts to build an even stronger community. While it is a public meeting we would appreciate if each organisation could send even one representative.
Sometimes we cannot see the wood for the trees and we fail to appreciate how far we have come or how much is on offer. A recent comment by some UK visitors to the town (April 2013) testifies to just that, “Our first visit to Kildare was twenty years ago. [It] was in a bad state, closed and dreary. The Improvement to the town is incredible, excellent Square, easy parking, fresh and inviting. Kildare has vastly improved.”
None of the above would have been possible without the community coming together. Think of all the positive work happening through our public representatives, local sports clubs, festival committees, historic society, residents committees, tidy towns, volunteer and other agencies who are working together to move the town forward. Let us tell it to the world; we are proud of our town – 7.30 pm Wed. 8 May in Kildare Heritage Centre (Market House), Market Square.

M & C Joinery has been in business since 1983, when it was founded by Kildare natives Paul McLoughlin and Joe Callan. Paul and Joe have over 60 years of carpentry experience between them, and are still heavily involved in all projects carried out at the Joinery today.
M & C has gradually grown from a small, local business to one that has clients across the country, and even abroad. The Joinery specialises in windows, doors, shop fronts and stables amongst other types of work.
M & C Joinery has been an employer in Kildare since it’s set-up and continues to employ a fully trained and experienced team of specialist joiners. Today, we are one of Ireland’s best respected and most trusted Joineries.

At Harte’s we have an extensive menu which will, we believe, satisfy all tastes. We are renowned for our ‘Steak on the Stone’ cooking style, which, allows the customer to cook their steak at their table. Add our vegetables, sourced from local artisan producers, our menu is sure to have something for everyone.
As well as having the restaurant beautifully refurbished by EMS Design, Harte’s boasts the most intimate bar in Kildare Town with the largest selection of beers and cocktails.
Looking forward to 2013 we also hope to open our townhouse which will comprise six en-suite rooms. Making Harte’s the perfect place to stay in Kildare Town.
